My Artwork "Tenderness and Greatness" 85x80 2014-2019. Tenderness, stronger than stone, is not the opposite of strength — it is where strength begins.
Gathering wood, moss, and flowers, I touch the oldest layers of my soul. The mountains symbolize strength, the weight of what has been lived through, the traces of time, which are embraced by soft moss. Moss softens the mountains just as intuition and emotions embrace the rigid structures of the mind.
The red milkweed flowers like drops of flame, sparks, stand for the passion to live, to create, to love. I transform living flowers into ceramics — to preserve in eternity those fleeting moments that usually pass too quickly.
I am a chemist, but the process of creating my artworks is more a philosophy and an alchemy of the soul. The engineer in me assisted the artist: I selected each element carefully, so that the composition would be as stable as nature itself.
The structures of the mountains, made from wood, are meticulously balanced to create a sense of support. Meanwhile, moss and flowers, lighter and more living elements, convey emotional depth.
I believe that greatness without tenderness becomes cold, while tenderness without greatness becomes helpless. This work is about those who know how to love while remaining strong. About those who can be a support to others while allowing themselves to be vulnerable.
Within us all, tenderness and greatness wait to be revealed.
