Behind Barbed Wire

The soul remembers freedom, even in a cage. I created this artwork by touching every petal as if it were a wounded soul. Living flowers, broken—yet perhaps even more beautiful—symbolize human fragility, our inner beauty that others may try to trample. But the voice of life cannot be silenced.

Beauty cannot be imprisoned. No border can confine the freedom of the spirit. Love and the yearning for light are eternal. As long as we can feel, cry, and love, we are free.

I have seen people turn into cold metal, and I have seen how often a person builds their own prison.
But I have also witnessed flowers blooming even in the darkest places. Not because it is easy for them, but because it is their nature—to live and reach for the light.

The artwork was created in the year 2000, and I still ask myself:
Am I keeping my own soul behind barbed wire?

But perhaps my artworks are the answer:
I am free because I continue to love and create.
